About this notice

This notice explains how Future Institute collects, uses and handles personal data when you enquire about or register for our courses.

Personal data we collect

Depending on your interaction with us, we may collect your name, contact details, registration information, payment records and course participation information. We collect information relevant to handling your enquiry, registration and course administration.

For hands-on beauty courses, we may ask about health conditions, allergies or recent procedures that affect whether a technique is suitable for you. We collect this only where needed for your safety in class, with your consent, and share it only with your trainer. We may take photographs and videos during classes, including group photos, and use them on our website, social media and advertising. If you do not wish to appear in them, please tell us before or during the class and we will make sure you are not included. Any other photographs or videos are taken only with the consent of the people shown.

How we use and share personal data

We use personal data to respond to enquiries, process registrations and payments, communicate course information, maintain learner records and handle feedback or requests.

Where required, we obtain consent before collecting, using or disclosing personal data. We will explain any additional purpose before using information for that purpose, unless otherwise permitted by law.

We may share relevant information with staff, trainers and service providers who assist with course delivery and administration, such as messaging (WhatsApp), website hosting, data storage, payment and analytics providers, or where disclosure is required or permitted by law. We do not sell personal data.

Where required consent has been obtained, we may send course news and promotional information. Optional marketing consent is not a condition of course registration. You may ask us to stop sending promotional messages at any time. We follow applicable requirements for messages sent to Singapore telephone numbers.

Website and advertising data

When you send an enquiry or tap a WhatsApp button on our website, we record which page you were on and which website or advertisement brought you to us, for example a Google or Instagram advertisement. We use this to understand which of our pages and advertising are useful to learners.

If we use analytics or advertising cookies, they are only switched on after you accept them in the cookie banner. You can decline them, and declining does not affect your use of the website.

Withdrawal of consent

You may contact us in writing to withdraw consent for the collection, use or disclosure of your personal data. We will explain how your request may affect our ability to provide the relevant service. Withdrawal does not prevent handling of information where permitted or required by law.

Access and correction

Contact us if you wish to request access to your personal data, information about its use or disclosure as provided by law, or correction of inaccurate information. Requests are subject to applicable legal exceptions. We will explain any permitted access fee before proceeding. We respond as soon as reasonably possible; if we cannot respond to an access request within 30 days, we will inform you in writing within that period when we expect to respond. Please let us know when your details change.

Protection and retention

We take reasonable measures to protect personal data and restrict access to those who need it for their work. We retain personal data while needed for the purposes for which it was collected or for legal or business requirements, then securely dispose of it or remove identifying details. We assess personal data breaches and notify the relevant authority and affected individuals where required by law.

Some of our service providers may store or process personal data outside Singapore. Where personal data is transferred outside Singapore, we take the steps required under the Personal Data Protection Act to ensure it receives a comparable standard of protection.

Data Protection Officer

Our Data Protection Officer handles questions, requests, withdrawals of consent and feedback about personal data. You can contact our Data Protection Officer by WhatsApp at +65 8993 8055 or through the details on our Contact Us page.
